Power Supply

SITOP compact

The slim power supply unit for control boxes

Thanks to the extremely space-saving slim design, the new power supply series for the lower performance range is especially suited to distributed applications in control boxes or in small control cabinets. The power supplies are characterized by their low power loss over the entire load range. Power loss is extremely low even during no-load operation, which is why they are ideal, for example, for supplying machinery and equipment that are often in stand-by mode.

The SITOP PSU100C switched-mode power supplies have a wide-range input for AC and DC networks, with plug-in terminals allowing a simple electrical connection.

Sitop Smart

One third smaller, but with even more power - the new SITOP smart is one of the narrowest DIN rail-mounted power supply units on the market that exhibits an impressive overload behaviour. Even large loads can be switched on without any problems. With nominal outputs rated at 120 percent continuous, SITOP smart is positioned as the most reliable power supply of its class. Numerous certifications simplify its universal and worldwide use, as well as its deployment under hazardous conditions.

SITOP smart - makes your plant run and run and run....

The new SITOP smart family of power supplies is a third slimmer than its predecessor generation which makes it one of the slimmest DIN rail power supplies on the market now. Its improved overload reaction now even permits energy hungry I/O devices like DC/DC converters and motors to power up without a problem. Up to 150 percent of the rated current is available for 5 seconds. And they also provide more continuous power, up to 120 percent of the rated capacity at ambient temperatures of up to 45 degrees Celsius. Using a potentiometer, the output voltage can be conveniently adjusted on the front between 22.8 and 28 Volts.

The single phase, primary pulsed power supplies with output currents of 2.5A, 5A and 10A have extensive certification for universal use around the world. In addition to certifications for the North American market which is standard for SITOP, they offer GL (Germanische Lloyd) for use in shipbuilding and meet the ATEX guidelines (Atmosphere Explosible) for applications in hazardous areas.

Expansion with perfectly coordinated SITOP add on modules provides additional flexibility. For example, SITOP smart can quite easily be upgraded into an uninterruptible power supply by adding a SITOP DC-UPS module and a battery. The SITOP redundancy module and a second power supply of the same type enable redundant operation. In combination with the SITOP select diagnostic module, individual 24 VDC load circuits can be reliably protected. SITOP smart thus becomes the ideal 24 VDC power supply solution - providing excellent protection for a wide range of applications.

Sitop Modular

SITOP modular 24 VDC: The first 24 VDC power supplies in modular design

The new generation of SITOP power supplies features an innovative modular concept. Basic 24 VDC units are available for single and 3-phase applications from 5 A up to 40 A, covering most networks worldwide.

The modular design allows adding extra functionality to the basic unit. As needed, signaling, back-up, redundancy, DC UPS, and an electronic diagnosis module can easily be added. All this flexibility comes at a surprisingly low price, making SITOP Modular the perfect choice for 24 VDC industrial power installations.

The basic unit

With compact, primary switching power supplies installation is fast and easy: The robust metal design with its vibration-resistant, DIN rail mounting is ideal for use under rugged industrial conditions. A wide range of input voltages and international agency approvals qualify SITOP Modular for use in almost every network worldwide. Specifically, the 5A and 10A units cover single and three-phase voltages in one unit: hot wire and ground are used for single phase applications, whereas only two hot wires are needed for three-phase networks.

Footprint has become the most important purchasing criteria for automation and controls components due to demand for smaller panels. The new SITOP Modular 3-phase 24VDC/20A power supply addresses this issue with a substantial reduction of the width from 160mm with the previous basic 3-phase unit to 70mm with the new 3-phase unit.

The basic unit offers functions, already covering many requirements:
  • Robust metal construction of IP 20 housing and DIN rail clip
  • Compact footprint is among the smallest in the industry
  • Wide input voltage ranges from 85 to 132 VAC and from 176 to 550 VAC (5 A and 10 A units only)
  • Power boost up to 300% and 25 ms to serve high inrush loads
  • Load sharing with parallel operation
  • Three LEDs provide clear, detailed information on the current operating status
  • Adjustable output voltage up to +20% via front mounted potentiometer prevents voltage drop in long cable runs
  • Manual reset, or automatic restart option to handle short-circuits.

DC/DC Converters for DIN Rail Mounting

The DC/DC converters from SITOP supply 24 V output voltage at rated output currents from 0.375 to 10A. The industry-standard DIN rail-mounted devices are connected, for example, to battery-buffered power supply networks for safety-relevant applications. These include applications in industry, power plants, water treatment plants and vehicle onboard. To supply an uninterruptible 24 V DC input voltage SITOP offers DC-UPS systems with maintenance-free, lead-gel batteries or long-life capacitors for energy storage.
